Lecture, lecture, lecture... (March 30th, 2017)
I was scheduled to give this lecture before either of these works were finished. For a minute I questioned if I should talk about my work in progress, but I'm very glad I did. Talking about your work to an audience you don't know well, can really identify blank spaces in the work. Answering questions at the end really allowed me to solidify my position and move forward confidently.
That being said, lecturing is difficult and I didn't realize this until I was up to talk myself. Up until this moment, I had only been in the audience and lucky enough to see a lot of great lectures. Here's a list of lectures that I really enjoyed live:
Sarah Carter on Tangible Things
Sarah Vowell on Lafayette in the Somewhat United States (this was actually a small group conversation that I attended, it was INCREDIBLE hearing her talk about her work)
I'll check back in if I remember so more later.
